Atlas navigates the paper-thin terrain of the first accurate map of the retinal surface, The Atlas of Ophthalmology. The film explores in macro detail the landscape of the original drawings, which were created with the aid of a Camera Lucida by Richard Liebreich in 1863.

A scripted voiceover takes influence from eye tests and ASMR restagings of them, while a slide projector takes the role of a blink.
